Team Leader | Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto

Permanent Role Starting 2027 (2 Permanent Management Units)

About the Role

This leadership position will be based in our Junior School for the foreseeable future, with the successful applicant likely to lead our New Entrants team in 2027. You will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting our kaiako to build a stimulating, inclusive, and joyful learning environment for our youngest ākonga.

Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto is a full primary school located in the south-west of Christchurch. Our kura was gifted the name Pūroto by Ngāi Tahu, reflecting the significance of the ponds and waterways that surround us.

Whakarite ngā kete mō te haerenga! Prepare your kete for the journey! – Our vision promotes the hauora and growth of all tamariki, encouraging and equipping them to fill their kete for the journey ahead.

We are looking for teachers who: bring both expertise and heart to their practice. In the foreseeable future, this position will be based in our junior school. At the centre of our kura is a deep commitment to relationships, valuing strong connections with learners, colleagues, and whānau. We seek educators who use effective, engaging pedagogies to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire every child to thrive.

Potential leadership opportunities will be tailored to the successful applicant’s experience and strengths.

If you would like to relieve at Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto, please register with ‘StaffSync and request to be a preferred reliever at our kura (school).

Please also bring the following documents into the Office to be sighted and scanned, as per Ministry of Education requirements:

  • 2x ID (license, passport, power bill, etc.)
  • The digital .pdf file of your current teaching practicing certificate.
  • A .pdf copy of your restraint certificate

We also require a minimum of 2 professional referees, with both phone and email contact details. These can be uploaded to your StaffSync profile.
