Parent Teacher Association

About the PTA

Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto has a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA). It has a committee made up of parent/caregivers, Board of Trustees representatives and staff representatives who have voting rights but all parent/caregivers are welcome to attend meetings and contribute in their own way.

The PTA co-ordinates fundraising and social activities, organises special interest meetings and assists the Board of Trustees with policy making and other tasks when requested. It is a forum for parents/caregivers to receive information about school activities, offer opinions, and hear reports from the Principal, Board of Trustees and other sub-committees.

The PTA is a great way to meet and get to know other parents/caregivers. We want to hear your ideas on how to improve your children’s school. You don’t have to attend every meeting to be a member nor will you be expected to take on a job, unless, of course, you want to. We need helpers as well as organisers, ideas people as well as practical people, dads as well as mums. If you need transport, we can help. If you can’t attend meetings we also need “Friends of the PTA” to assist with sausage sizzles, discos and any other event requiring people power.

Please visit the PTA’s Facebook page or contact any of the PTA members for more information, or you can email us at pta@beckenham.school.nz. We look forward to hearing from you!

The PTA Uniform Room is open during term time on Tuesday from 2:45 – 3:15pm and Friday from 8:45 – 9:15am depending on parent availability.
