Frequently Asked Questions

What is a non-uniform day?

Non-uniform days are special days where students are able to wear their own clothing to school. Students do not need to wear their uniform on these days. Non-uniform days will be announced in the school newsletter or in a special notice.

What are school houses?

Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto has four houses each with their own colour – Waimea (blue), Tennyson (orange), Fisher (purple) and Heathcote (yellow). Each student is placed in one of these houses when they enrol at Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto. We use houses as a way to foster friendly competitions and for younger and older students to work together.

What is the earliest time children may arrive at school?

Students may arrive at school from 8:30 AM. If your child needs to be at school earlier than 8:30 AM, then you should consider signing them up for BOSCO.
