Kahikatea Newsetter Term 3 Week 10

Term 3
We are at the end of an extremely fun-filled and busy term. A huge thank you to the children for their hard work and great attitude. Also, thank you to the parent helpers who help out in a variety of ways. We couldn't do it without you! Have a well-deserved break and we look forward to Term 4.

Centenary
The children have been working hard on learning their dance routine for our Beckenham School Centenary. This will be held at school on Saturday 24th October from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Your child will have received a letter outlining their dance in more detail. If they have not received this, please let your child's teacher know.

Statistics
These last two weeks have been focussed around statistics in our maths programme. We have been discussing how to collect, collate and make a statement about data. We have also been discussing probability. Here are the children hard at work figuring out the likelihood of pairs in a pack of cat and dog cards:

Plays
Hub 3&4 have been focussing on plays for reading this week and have been performing them over the last two days. The children were learning how to use their voice, facial expressions and body to perform effectively. They also focussed on how to be a great team member and audience member. Here are some photos of two performances:

Home Learning
Home Learning books will stay at school over the holidays and spelling will resume on Friday in the first week of term.

Rugby World Cup
We have been starting our investigations into our RWC teams and even had a delicious treat from South Africa in Hub 3&4:
