Kids who struggle with the interoceptive sense may have trouble knowing when they feel hungry, full, hot, cold or thirsty. Having trouble with this sense can also make self-regulation a challenge.

We were fortunate to have some very good professional development on understanding how we can help all of our children to ‘tune in’ to their bodies, the messages that their bodies might be sending them, and then how to interpret these messages.

All year, across the school, we have been doing ‘interoception’ lessons for 2-5 mins each morning and afternoon.
