Early this year, I spent a considerable amount of time, putting together a project brief for the Design Team. The template and format of this brief was designed by the Ministry of Education. I was supported to write this by Lorraine Moss and Vikanda Bagrie, from the MOE, with a dual purpose of our brief being used a) to focus the attention of the Design Team to the specific needs of Beckenham School; and b) as an intial example to share with other schools who will subsequently need to write their own brief for this process.<\/p>\n
The information in the brief was collated from a variety of sources, including staff meetings over the past 18 months, school documentation, Board of Trustees input, feedback from students and feedback from families via our whānau hui.<\/p>\n
Accompanying the brief, was a pdf of annotated photographs, designed to show the Design Team what learning and being part of the wider school community at Beckenham School looks like.<\/p>\n
