Home Zone FROM 01\/01\/2021<\/p><\/div>\n

From 1 January 2021, the following Home Zone applies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting from the intersection of Sandwich Road and Waimea Terrace,<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • South along Waimea Terrace to Eastern Terrace<\/span><\/li>\n
  • East along Estern Terrace to the Bowenvale Avenue bridge<\/span><\/li>\n
  • South over the bridge to Centaurus Road<\/span><\/li>\n
  • North East along Centaurus Road to Major Aitken Drive<\/span>\n
      \n
    • Includes all addresses on Major Aitken Drive to Huntsbury Avenue, all addresses on Kenmure Drive and Swanton Drive, and all addresses on the cul-de-sac roads accessed from Major Aitken Drive, Kenmure Drive and Swanton Drive.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • North East along Centaurus Road to St Martins Road<\/span>\n
        \n
      • Includes all addresses accessed from Whaka Terrace, Woodlau Rise, Sepia Lane, and Austin Kirk Lane<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • North along St Martins Road to Burnbrae Street<\/span><\/li>\n
      • West along Burnbrae Street to Riverlaw Terrace<\/span><\/li>\n
      • North along Riverlaw Terrace to Wilsons Road<\/span><\/li>\n
      • North West across the Wilsons Road bridge to Eastern Terrace<\/span><\/li>\n
      • South West along Eastern Terrace to Tennyson St<\/span><\/li>\n
      • West along Tennyson Street to Southampton Street<\/span><\/li>\n
      • North along Southampton Street to Croyden Street<\/span>\n
          \n
        • Including Ikamatua Lane<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • North East along Croydon Street to Huxley Street<\/span><\/li>\n
        • North West along Huxley Street to Montrose Street<\/span><\/li>\n
        • South West along Montrose Street to Southampton Street<\/span><\/li>\n
        • North West along Southampton Street to Colombo Street<\/span><\/li>\n
        • South along the East side only of Colombo Street to Waimea Terrace<\/span><\/li>\n
        • East, then South along Waimea Terrace to Sandwich Road<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Addresses on both sides of boundary roads are considered in-zone unless specified otherwise.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Transitional Arrangements<\/b><\/p>\n

          For families of currently enrolled students whose addresses become \u201cout of zone\u201d due to this amendment to the enrolment scheme home zone:<\/b> they shall be deemed to be \u201cin-zone\u201d, but only for as long as they contain children who, at the time of enrolment, are the siblings of current students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          The School office holds a list of such families if you are not sure of your situation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          NB <\/b>This is a very tightly defined concession. It would <\/span>not apply<\/b> to:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Children of parents who move in to any of these addresses subsequent to the adoption of the enrolment scheme boundary amendment; and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Children of parents currently living at one of the addresses who move out of the address subsequent to the adoption of the enrolment scheme boundary amendment.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Section 11E of the Education Act 1989 states that \u201ca state school\u2019s home zone must be defined by geographic boundaries, and must be described in such a way that any given address is either within or outside the home zone.\u201d The list above is defining a location as \u201cin-zone\u201d unless dictated otherwise by the exceptions outlined in A and B above.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Out of Zone Enrolments<\/h3>\n

            Applications for out-of-zone places are now being invited for students who will be eligible to enrol in Term 4, 2026<\/b><\/p>\n

            We have <\/span>up to 3 spaces<\/b><\/span> <\/b>available for students who are either in <\/span>New Entrants, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 or Year 6<\/b> at Beckenham Te Kura o P\u016broto.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Please note:<\/b> Siblings of current students at Beckenham Te Kura o P\u016broto who live out of zone <\/span>do not have automatic enrolment<\/b>. Families in this situation must apply through the <\/span>Out-of-Zone Enrolment Process<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Applications will be prioritised using the following groupings:<\/span><\/p>\n

              \n
            1. siblings of current students<\/span><\/li>\n
            2. siblings of former students<\/span><\/li>\n
            3. children of former students<\/span><\/li>\n
            4. children of board employees or board members<\/span><\/li>\n
            5. all other applicants<\/span>\n

              <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Each priority group is considered one at a time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

              If there are enough places for everyone in a group, then all children in that group will be offered a place.<\/span><\/p>\n

              If there aren\u2019t enough places, a ballot (random draw) will be held, and all children in that group will be included in the draw.<\/span><\/p>\n

              Key dates are as follows:<\/b><\/p>\n

                \n
              • The deadline for receipt of applications is <\/span>Wednesday, 19 August 2026<\/b>. Applications must be submitted using the official application form.<\/span>\n

                <\/span><\/li>\n

              • Ballot day (if required) will be <\/span>Friday, 21 August 2026. <\/b>\n

                <\/span><\/li>\n

              • You will be notified within <\/span>three working days<\/b> following the deadline as to whether your child has been successful for Term 4 entry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
